Happy Birthday Biker!

Hello Everyone, hoping all is well with you and that your week is going fine.
Cooler now, but still nice  weather, but got a shock last night when I had to drive home in the dark from choral practise, of course I could see outside that it had darkened but somehow the brain hadn't computed that I would be driving in it.  Hate driving in the dark now, I don't know if it's my eyes or lack of confidence, maybe a bit of both. I've forgotten how to put the full beam on, isn't that shocking!!, so I sat for a few minutes to get my driving bearings.

Anyway, it was lovely to get back to singing and with such a beautiful programme this session it's going to be a pleasure. We are singing Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle along with various other pieces by different composers.  I first stumbled through the Rossini way back in 2004 when I first joined the Choral Society, when I didn't read music, sing Latin, and couldn't follow a music score, nearly gave up with it, but here I am 12 years one and not only can I sing Latin, but also other languages, and don't loose the place so much, lol. Seriously folks though, I love choral music and find it so uplifting. Sing is though, doesn't matter what kind of music, it's food for the soul as the great Bard wrote.

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my CCC creations, you are very kind. A warm welcome to my two new Followers, Shirley and Mac, thank you so much for choosing to follow, I hope you will continue to pop in when you have time and leave a comment.

So here I am with my second 60th card for our friend Ken for the "Boys" to sign and give him,
Once again I wanted something humorous and found this at Dr. Digi, and just perfect as a few years back, much to is wife's horror he bought himself a motor bike... you know the kind of male menopause thing.  He also has a beard, not like this chap, not does he have his girth, so I think he will see the fun in it.
I wanted a fairly muted colours so silver, grey and shades of blue. Gansi Tambi watercolour paint, Ctaftersworkshop Stencil, cogs with Starlight Paints dubbed through it, the image is mounted on to card painted in Silver  and Black Starlight Paints, a peel off 60, and to finish Glossy Accent on the specs.
I'm posting this even although Ken's birthday is not till next month but he doesn't look at my blog.

Off now to have a look in a parcel that's just been put in the door by Fergus our lovely Postie, it's from Imagination Crafts and stamps and new Starlights, going to be having a play tonight whilst Alistair is out Ken's home with the "Boys" playing music.

Have a lovely day whatever you are doing, and hoping to get around to visit later today, see you soon

Yes it has gone so much darker at nights now, so much earlier and having to put the lights on in the house! I am in Scotland too so I know what you mean. Fun and gorgeous card today and loving the muted colours. Yes I have got into starlight paints these past couple of weeks (of course had them for ages) and I painted them onto stamps and got gorgeous shimmer from them. (I don't ever paint onto stamps normally). Enjoy your crafting goodies x

A really super card Kate. I also like the muted colours and the image is really fun. So glad you enjoyed yourself at Choir. I used the sing in the school choir many years ago and remember once very proudly singing Ave Maria in Latin. I don't sing often now, just in church but do enjoy opera and often watch on the Arts channel on TV. Barbxx

The nights are indeed drawing in very quickly Kate, afraid I am non too keen on the shorter days.

Another super Birthday card and again it sounds perfect for the recipient.

Great to hear you had such fun singing. Got dark early here yesterday. Lovely and warm here today just in from the garden.

Thank you fir your lovely comments over on my blog. And have to agree that the ethnos of the Olympic games has been lost along the way. I got really cross with the commentators saying athletes had failed or those who won a bronze medal crying cos they had not got the gold.

Bring back Eddy the Eagle.

Great card. Crafty hugs xxx

A super card Kate, a brilliant image and great papers - a perfect masculine design.
It's not nice having to drive in the dark again is it - I suppose we will have to get used to it though!

Fantastic card Kate! I started to call this biker an old Fart and then realized that is is 12 years younger than me. (is that bad English)
I know you are so happy to be singing again and I can say first hand that you all are terrific!

What a perfect card for your sporty friend. Had a chuckle over the male menopause...it is true! I'm sure he'll get a big laugh out of it, and feel very special that you were so thoughtful to choose something so personal to his life. Great colors too. TFS & thanks for the good wishes sent my way. Hugs

Hi Kate,
what a super , super card.
That image is so very right for a biker, and they usually have beards, as we used to live next door to one.
Great colouring of that image, and I do love the starlights background.
I'm sure he is going to love this card.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I think I'd get thrown out of the choir, I did sing as a child but you'd never know, tone deaf now! I too don't like it when the nights start to darken again, boo, hiss, that means only one thing, winter is coming.

A super card Kate, I might have to booknote this one as it is a perfect copy of my Dad and his bike. LOL. Such a super image and I love the subtle shades of grey too.

Enjoy your evening playing with your new stash, how exciting.

Hugs Erika. x
