Those Who Bring Sunshine!

Hello to Everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying your evening.
Lots of heavy showers up here so just the perfect weather for getting a bit of crafting done.

Thank you all for visiting me and leaving those lovely comments, I do appreciate them and the time you take to pop in.
I did enjoy my mac and cheese last night, so that will keep me going for quite a while.

Well just for a change there's footy on tonight, would you believe it! But Alistair has been warned that the channel is being changed at 9 o'clock, and I don't care what's on as long as it's not football. Now some of you might think I'm being harsh, but we have had the start of the Tour de  France and the flipping tennis which really is like paint drying in my opinion.  The TV is saturated with sport GrrrrÅ•!

Anyway  I have been trying to get a sunburst stencil for some time, I know Sheena Douglass did one, but have tried so many places, even  Amazon and eBay, without luck, however,  I bought one of the Sue Wilson's new Christmas dies called Sunray.
Now you know I don't get along with SB dies, but thankfully this one cut out well.
I coloured it with various sunshine coloured inks and then rubbed on some Alchemy Wax, from Imagination Crafts.  Inked up a sky background and stamped some little Inkylicious birds  in between the rays, reminding  me of Icarus.
Sentiment is also by Inkylicious, and that's that.

I'm thinking I'll go and get into my pj's and dressing gown  getting ready to watch something that's not football, take care of yourselves and see you soon,

Oh I do know what you mean about sport overload - and you missed out cricket!!! Mind you, as a keen cyclist I do love the Tour de France, but just the highlights. I watch no other sport whatsoever!! Your card is great Kate. I have bought this die and thougth it would be a good one for Christmas cards. Take care. Hugs Christine xx

Had a wee giggle about the sports. My daughter, son in law and the grandkids drove up to visit us at the lake, for the Canada Day long weekend.
Yesterday my son in law wastched sports all day and evening. She was fairly ticked off as they drove 5 hours to get here, and the kids wanted to go boating and tubing.
He wanted to see the soccer (footy in UK) poor fellow. I could see her point but he had done the driving and was too tired to do more. We called a truce at the end of the main games and played Aggravation as a family afterwards. The kids were thrilled!

Your card is lovely! That sunburst is fab and I really love the glistening wax finish.

What an effective card with your new sunburst stencil Kate, always a fan of sunrays in any format.

Hope you got to see some 'proper' TV, have to admit I am a bit of a sports freak although went off the fottie a bit after our last performance.

Brilliant card Kate, very effective.
Hope you managed to find anything "non sport" worth watching.
I was in the kitchen crafting and could find nothing on the Telly in there.
Have a great Sunday

Love the sunburst Kate it's a beautiful colour the tiny birds are great in the spaces in the die cut. Agree far to much sport on at present I am lucky though and have a television in one of the spare bedrooms ( elder son's old room) it plays DVD's as well so if there's nothing I fancy on TV I can watch a DVD watching the Hobbit trilogy at the moment.

Hi Kate
Well your play with your new die has created a beautiful card.
I told Mr D he could watch the footie from 9pm last night.......just my luck it went into extra time and penalties!

Kate your post made me laugh, hubby is a sport freak and loves to watch everything. Hence why I have my own TV in my craft room then he can watch what he wants...men!!
Love your card it's just stunning...some dies are hard to use but I recently found out while at a class that the plastic shopping bags cut to fit the die works wonders. Paper, plastic then the die...I did try it and wow...try that next time...hugs from a chilly Australia.xxx  {aNNie}

Love your card Kate! I am lucky that hubby isn't a sports fan so we have been watching a few of our videos. Today we have sun, which is a nice change to all the rain we have had.

Kate if it isn't football it's motor racing, yawn. I've been crocheting instead! Should really be ironing.
I love your sunburst card and the little birds. The metallic colour on the sunburst is stunning.
Good to hear you enjoyed your meal out, hope you didn't suffer too much?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, hugs Erika. x

A beautiful card Kate, I love the way you have stamped the sweet little birds in between the rays. The colours are very pretty and the Alchemy wax adds that extra special little touch. I have to agree with you, the sport has been overdone recently I think, great if you like sport lol! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Love & Hugs Jennifer xx.

Beautiful card Kate. I love the little birds in between the sun rays! This die seems to work great. I'm with you regarding SB, not a fan, they never work for me. sending hugs for the long weekend :)

Hi Kate,
what a very super card.
I love your fab waxing colour technique done to this great die cut, and the lovely birds, and inking in the background.
That sentiment is just perfect for the design also.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

This is a super die and your card design works beautifully. I love the tiny birds flying between the rays too.
I totally agree with you on the sport front - not everyone is interested in it and to have your favourite regular programmes changed around and cancelled because of it is so annoying.

And that is why I have a small tv in my craft room!

Love your sun ray die and what you did with it. Lovely card. Colors are lovely, Kate. Thanks for the July 4th good wishes. Not so good for our dog, everyone in the neighborhood had fire crackers and she was just beside herself and they went on forever.

Hugs
Sue
