Pink and White for Christmas Card Club!

Hello One and All and I hope it's a good weekend for you and that you are feeling tip top. Here is a hug though if your not.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my "Oldie" card, it's fun to look back at what you've done.

My card today is for the Christmas Card Club and the theme was chosen by our Karen which is pink and white, with accents of black, gold and silver.  Well i have to say I struggled a bit with this one as I'm not a pink girl really, however here is what I came up with;
I'm sure I've seen pink poinsettias so I thought I would use my SB dies cutting Centura Pearl card in pale pink and white. Gold for the leaves and I guess the silver is in the glitter.  The swirl is from a Sizzix die set, Embossialicilous Embossing Folder, Bazzil pink card a bit of black card and some Gold Liquid Pearls.  Not a bad effort in the end.  So thank you Karen for the challenge.

Well, it's just me and Teallach for the week and Alistair is away on a walking holiday with some chums to Iceland, the country that is not the shop.  I'm poor, sick jealous as I would loved to have gone back, but it is a boys holiday and they will be camping, not my idea of fun.  They are hoping to walk around the big volcano that erupted a couple of years back and is set to go any time again, so I made sure I knew where all his money is, lol.  I am sure they will have a fab time. When we went to pick his friend Bill up this morning, his partner Sheela said Bill hadn't slept all nigh he was so excited. Alistair too, he was up before dawn, packing, unpacking , repacking, this had all be done yesterday too.  Anyway I got them off safely to the train to Morcombe where they are meeting up with the rest of the "boys" and then flying out tomorrow.  Oh bliss!!!

I've only 18 hours to do next week and that is me finished with my job, we will all be so pleased as the closing down has been a shambles, and no thought to how the staff were having to cope with clearing out the building, anyway nearly all over. Managers!!!

I'll love you and leave you, and hope to get around to see what you've been doing, Blogger is acting up again not letting me on to some of your pages, but I keep trying.

Enjoy your weekend,

A great card Kate, and it certainly meets the brief. I'm sure Alistair will have a great time with his buddies and you will also enjoy some time to yourself. I used to love it when John went off climbing so that I could have some "me" time and do just what I wanted. But I loved it when he arrived home safely too! Hugs Christine xx

Not bad attempt you say - it's gorgeous Kate! Love it, the extra colour is just perfect and makes the poinsettias pop even more. Yep the pink and red poinsettias do get seen a lot in blogland and I use them a bit myself. Hope next week isn't so stressful for you, I have to say you can keep the idea of camping around a volcano no way would I ever do that or want to do that. Nice hotel with a spa for me! Have a good week Karen x

Hope Alistair has a fab holiday...sounds like a great boys vacation!

I would be hunkered down in my craft room if DHG were going away...now wait...he is! Mine is going up to the lake 5 days earlier than me, so I plan a few days next week having some crafty fun! I will then drive up with my daughter and the kiddies as they always come to th lake for her birthday.

Camping to me has to have all the comforts of home! teehee

Your card is so pretty. The EF is really lovely and your poinsettias look wonderful

Typical about your managers not planning well...good thing you all are there still to settle things up!

I struggled a bit with the pink as well, Kate but it was a good challenge to take us out of our comfort zone, yes? This one turned out beautifully, and I love your poinsettias, the way you've combined the colors - the flowers are so lush. Grinned at the camping comment...my idea of camping is a nice motel/hotel with all the amenities, and hopefully a nice craft store nearby. Good luck with the final hours in your job. Remember there is still many things awaiting you in your future...so look forward to the next step. TFS & Hugs

Hi Kate
Tell me about Blogger. Its taken me this time to get on to comment on here and to sort my own blog, boo hiss!
And don't talk to me about managers. Mine forgot to tell payroll I was back at work after my poxing and I haven't been paid this month!!!

Ok, soapbox kicked away now and rant over.

Your card is smashing. Love the poinsettias, pretty in pink.
Couldn't you have gone to Iceland as well and stayed in a nice posh hotel whilst Bear Grylls and the boys did their camping lol?
Hoped the rest of your clear up goes ok chuck.

Will it not be cold camping in Iceland? Brrr!
I'm sure the "boys holiday" will be fun but you'll be able to have just as much fun crafting.
A super Christmas card, my favourite poinsettia dies and a great embossed background.
Enjoy the peace and quiet, can I visit?! It's a madhouse here!

Hugs Erika. x
