Hello Everyone, I hope you are all fine and well and enjoying some lovely warm sunny weather. We haven't today, very heavy rain at times, dull and now a bit cold tonight, but it may be better tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who visited and left a comment on my last card, I do enjoy reading them and appreciate the time it take in this busy whirlwind of life.
I've had a few days off work and apart from finding a bit of time to craft, I also got around to clearing the loft, finding loads of things that we had forgotten that we had. Old photos which we just had to sit and look at, of course taking so much longer in getting the job done. Notes and books from when I was studying, Christmas decorations, mostly squashed and broken I have to add. Anyway, it eventually got done and it's amazing the amount of space there is now.
I am looking forward to going down to Livingstone to visit our friends Dale and Stewart and going to the Edinburgh Jazz Festival. I've got a couple of days of annual leave so it's going to be a good weekend and catching up with them is always good fun.
I have something a bit different to show tonight; I always look for something to take down to give to Dale, here is what I came up with;
I had bought these two wooden hearts ages ago, and didn't quite know what to do with them, but after seeing some wonderfully decorated wooden projects from some of you fab crafters, I got a little bit of inspiration.
I painted both with gesso and then added DI, I even used a brayer, first time for that. The larger one has a beautiful Rose stamp from Papermania, heat embossed with Papermania Black embossing powder. Coloured with Derwent and Prismacolour Pencils, worked not too badly. Sentiment from Crafter's Compamion Vintage Range. WO Flowers, The Ribbon Girl crushed ribbon, Pearls from Dovecraft and Star Dust. The is one is for Dale.
The smaller one is for her daughter Amanda, I used Card'O little Peg stamps from Oriental Bossom set, and versacolour ink, lots of Papermania Gems, Ribbon from my box.
I'm really very pleased how they have turned out, but I need to learn what kind of inks and paints are best to use, I just used what I had.
So that is me for tonight, Alistair has already gone upstairs to read and I'm just about to follow him, I'm engrossed in the 3rd. Crusade with Richard the Lionheart, what a bunch of sadistic killers the Crusaders were, nevertheless it's a good historical novel.
Take care everyone, sleep well and see you soon,

Hi Kate
Sorry I'm late. Blogger has been silly again with some of my reading list.
Your hearts are wonderful. What a super gift. I have a meddle with MDF now and again and I'm never sure what's best to paint/decorate it with.
Enjoy your break.
