Ice Skating or other Winter Sports for CCC!

Hello Everyone, another dreich day, and a day for indoors, having said that we did manage a walk around the canal in the morning and luckily got the best of the day.

I hope you are well and have something good to do this weekend, even if it's just staying in and crafting.

We are glued to the TV for the Scottish Election Results, all very exciting and very different due to the pandemic. It seems this election is very important to the Scottish people as there has been a much higher turn out than ever, anyhooo we are still counting and won't know the end result until possibly tomorrow, Sunday.

So it's Christmas Card Club once again... where did the last two weeks go to??? Gwen did the choosing this time and it was to see skates or other Winter sports on cards.

I struggled a bit and had to have a good rummage around in my stash for something that was close to the challenge. here's what I came up with,

This is a topper I've had for years and I'm pretty sure this pretty lady is skating going by her body position. I just added some backing paper and gems.

Another topper from years ago, with a sweet little bear having fun on a sledge, I just added background papers and mirror card, with glitter and gems.

These cute children are on skates, I love the vintage look of it and I carried it through with brown  glitter card and toning paper, a few gold pearls and glitter.

I hope they will do Gwen, it was a lovely challenge and glad I could use up more years old stash.

I'm going to schedule this post for tomorrow.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my last post. That's me for now, take care and enjoy your weekend,

  1. Good morning Kate

Brilliant Christmas cards .. .. what a great theme you had to work to this time.

Love the lady skating on the first card very much!

Our weather hasn't been brilliant either .. .. but we have plenty of jobs in the house to keep us busy!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  18. OH Kate, what a wonderful trio of cards! Your ice skating brings back fond memories of the pond that would freeze over in the back of our house - we'd be on it every winter! Lovely card designs as always! x0

I hope your weather improves down here we have high winds and rain again today, that wind is so cold I dread to think what it’s like with you when it feels so cold down here in the south west

  22. It’s great to be able to use stash up from years ago. Sort of justifies us having to have so much. I particularly like your nostalgic last card.

  26. A great theme for your CCC, and love both skaters, the vintage and the more modern, both with a bit of a glittery look and lots of matted layers on the first, and a pretty wavy edge to the topper on the other, and then the cute teddy on his sled and with great contrast with the darker blue tartan background. x
