Santa for CCC!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well, but I know that one of our lovely Blogging Friends has a great sadness just now as her beloved husband passed away the other day, so thoughts are very much with her and her family just now, and with anyone who is struggling just now, sending healing thoughts to you all.

Well, I can hardly believe that it's been two weeks since the last Christmas Card Club Challenge, but it has, so me and the girls are back again with cards showing Santa, which is our lovely Rita's choice.
Here is what I've come up with;
I've a fantasy Santa from an old stamp set from Papermania called Enchanted Christmas, the other little images are from the same stamp set and the sentiment is from Creative Stamping magazine.
I embossed the Santa image and sentiment in WOW embossing powder and my colouring is done the Zig watercolours. The papers are First Frost from SU, and I've layered silver glitter card and a teal card, with a grey base card. Wink of Stella and some glitter.  I love this stamp, but I find it difficult to colour, it's quite detailed and I thought the embossing would help with that, but it didn't, anyway, Rita I hope it will do. Thank you so much for the challenge, it was fun to do.

A quiet weekend for us, sometimes it just good to have nothing planned, I hope you are enjoying whatever your doing.
Scheduling this post for when it goes live tomorrow, and just before I go, thank you for your lovely comments about my last card. Take care and see you soon,

  1. Well, what a gorgeous Santa Kate! And wearing a robe in my favourite colour too! He really is a fabulous specimen. You are tight - what happens to these two weeks between challenges? They certainly seem to fly by. Weather has changed a bit now and is much cooler today. Still we have had a fabulous week or so and I definitely won't grumble - or not much anyway. Hugs Christine xx

  26. I love the gorgeous rich colours you have used here on your Santa. I embossed mine too as the stamp is very fussy otherwise to colour. Back up and running now with a spanking new router. Hugs Mrs A.

  32. Magical card Kate. Love the colours you have chosen. Makes him more whimsical. It's a shame when you have a stamp like that. Maybe, a light inky background and stamp the image over it rather than colouring all the detail in may give a nice effect. I have tried that in the past when I have had a similar problem. So sorry to read about your blogging friend.
