Hello Everyone, I hope your weekend is going well. Don't they come around fast!!
We have a mixture of dull and sunshine this morning and much cooler, and I can feel the Autumn chill in the early morning when I'm letting Teallach in. No doubt he will be staying indoors soon as it will be too cold for him to stay out all night.
I've got the best part of the weekend to myself, Alistair is going to our friends in Strathdon, where it's the Lonnach Gathering and our friends always put on a big BBQ and everyone who is anyone arrives. I have been plenty of times, and now there is no guarantee of a bed and I don't so camping of Alistair and his musical friends are going, and they have a hoolie in the bothy, Jack's made an old building in his garden into a bothy, where they light a fire and play music till the wee small hours. It's all great fun and on Sunday, those who want to get dressing in the theme of the weekend, which is 70's and have a grand time competing in games out in the garden. I hope the weather hold for them.
I'll be crafting and catching up with my new Dorothy Dunnett book.
So I thought that I would enter a wee card into the Rudolph challenge;

Just a little decoupaged Robin. I had this in my drawer for ages, I'm trying to use up some of my older stash.
That's me for now, and before I go, just to say thank you for all your lovely comments on my last card, I love to read them and appreciate each and everyone of them. Take care of yourselves, and have a grand weekend.
Love the decoupage look, it is obvious and love the gorgeous Robin.xx

Absolutely love this robin Kate - he's fabulous! You can't beat a good robin!!! Sounds like Alistair is going to be having fun - but I bet you'll enjoy yourself too! Hugs rachel xx
ReplyDeleteThis looks lovely. I had a robin come and visit me today out in the garden whilst sat at the table. He came looking for crumbs and was only about 2 feet away from me. His breast was a lovely red and very plump. Methinks The doc feeds them too well! Got bits out on my desk to make my Rudolph card but mojo has gone on a walk about! Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful robin card Kate, love robins and this is a beauty great layout too. not one for camping either like my creature comforts to much Meg xx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful robin & makes for the perfect Christmas card! Hope you're having a lovely time.....and hope Alistair is too! xx
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your stories of Alisdair and his mates. They know how to have a good time. I am going to google Hoolie and bothy soon as i finish this comment.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so pretty. I love decoupage. Especially when it is subtle like this one.
sometimes it is even fun to stamp and image twice to decoupage a partial layer, isn't it.
Thanks for taking part in the August Rudolph Days Challenge.
PS I just noticed that your blog states Inverness as your address. i was just there and for some reason I thought you were in Fife. I would have written to meet you for coffee if you had had the time. We went shopping in Inverness and I bought a lot of dies at The Works...I think that was the name...maybe it was the Range. I have yet to use them but they are lovely.
We got left behind in Inverness for 45 minutes,as the tour bus did not come back. "He said he was stuck in traffic. Eventually some other drivers took up some of us onto their buses as they had room. 15 people got left behind until the cruise ship finally arranged some transport!
A really pretty Christmas card Kate. Robins always look perfect on Christmas cards I think, so bright and cheery. Christmas will be here before we know it ! at least you have a head start with your cards lol! unlike me. Alistair sounds as though he and his friends will be having a great time. Love to read your posts. Hope the weather isn't too bad for them. Enjoy the rest of your Bank Holiday Kate.
ReplyDeleteCrafty Hugs Jennifer xx.
A lovely decoupage image Kate, beautifully dimensional and a great focal piece on this festive card.

A gorgeous card, Kate! Happy Rudolf Day! It sounds like Alistair is going to have almost as much fun as you will! Happy Crafting and reading. I am tidying away the craft things I took on holiday with me - lots of colouring and cutting out, and I came home to a lovely parcel from Inkylicious, which I will play with in time for next month's Rudolf day
ReplyDeleteFabulous Christmas card, love the robin image

What a pretty little robin! You've showcased her beautifully, Kate! How fun that you enjoyed a quiet weekend alone to craft and read! We all need those every now and then ... makes the heart grow fonder! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous and I love that darling robin image.

Such a beautiful decoupaged card Kate.

Aaaah it wouldn't be Christmas unless there was a robin, and I'm so loving yours, thanks for joining us at Augusts Rudolph Challenge, luv Sam x
ReplyDeleteWell, I have no idea what a hoolie in the bothy is, but it sure sounds like fun. I'm not into camping either (unless it's a nice hotel room with showers, a/c or heat and clean sheets too!) Love your robin and I can see the dimension from the layers. The extra greenery bit catches the eye, and the background paper is pretty but doesn't detract from that wonderful robin! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove your little Robin decoupaged card, such pretty colors and the layers are wonderful. I bought my first sheet of decourpage this past weekend at a craft show in our area and will soon give it a go. It's a wee little deer so cute. Hope it turns out as beautiful as your little Robin.

ReplyDeleteAnother beautifully decoupaged Robin Kate and the background paper is so pretty with it, and I also love the die cut holly and berries. x
ReplyDeleteHi Kate
ReplyDeleteNot sure you should be discussing Alistair's hoolie in public.
Your robin is lovely, so dimensional.
Hope you and T Boy enjoyed the peace.
Best wishes.
