Non Traditional Colours for the CCC!

Hello There Crafty Friends and Visitors, I hope you are well today and enjoying the weekend.
Well we are half way through the month, can you believe it! where is the time going?  I feel I just want to press a button to bring it to a stop.

It's also time once again for the Christmas Card Club to share their lovely creations and this time it's Carol who has done the choosing of the theme and she would like to see cards with non traditional colours, so here we go;
Blue, grey and pink for this one with Inkylicious tress and some sequins, sentiment is from CB, finishing with lots of sparkle.
A pretty tree made from CB Snowflake stamps, with a CB sentiment heat embossed in the middle of it. I've used Hero Arts Ink pad in Ombre Autumn and plenty of gems.
Snowflake embossing folder, tree and snowflakes which have been heat embossed with white powder are from JND and can be purchased from Mrs. Duck here.
I used black Centural Pearl card and sanded it back, then added some pearl sequins. The sentiment is from CB and heat embossed also. Ribbon and a dazzler and job done.
Do you think I've got a thing about trees?? Carol, I enjoyed this challenge, and I think it could be said that my colours are more winter than Christmas, thanks for the challenge.

It was a lovely morning here so we decided to go for a walk around the Culloden Battlefield, very busy it was too, still lots of tourists visiting, mind you Outlander is contributing to that. The visitor centre has lots of items for sale inspired by the drama, I've resisted . Alistair treated us to a pot of tea for two and fruit scones, which were really poor, I didn't ask how much it cost, but I bet he didn't get much change from a tenner.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card, I do appreciate them all.

That's me for now, do please visit the other members of the CCC as there will be plenty of lovely creations , off to schedule this for the challenge going live tomorrow,

  1. Three absolutely fabulous cards Kate. I love them all. John and I visited about three years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Mind you, it was very cold and windy but we couldn't not walk round the battle field after going round the centre. Take care. Hugs Christine xx

  5. Hi there Kate, sorry not been around for awhile. Been busy doing my sewing and getting my craft room sorted! New room for all my "stuff"

    Anyway back to your cards, just stunning, love the designs. In a way cant wait to see if we get snow this year down here in Devon. There is something about snow that makes one slow down and appreciate the day.

  9. Wow Kate...loving all three with the non traditional colours. Love the effect you have created on the first one, all mysterious and wonderful. What a fabulous stamp on your second card and love the colours you have used. The rubbing back of the embossing folder on your third card has worked beautifully on this very classy card. Gorgeous selection of cards and gorgeous Wintry and Christmas colours x Sorry about the poor scones....that would have upset my day as I love a good scone x I did succumb to Outlander and bought a Fraser scarf...love it! Thank you once again for introducing me to the series...Loved series one (although gruesome and dark in parts) and now looking forward to series two in the new year. Have you seen the next series???

  16. Three fab cards. My favourite is the first card though with the sequin tree. Looks so classy with only the one decorated. Shame your scone wasn't up to scratch. Perhaps you can tempt Alistair into the kitchen to make up a batch for you!.

  27. WOW! You've outdone yourself on 3 cards for the CCC. Absolutely love how you've created the wintery (and Christmas!) look on #1. The silver on the trees is so shivery, with the jeweled snowflakes hanging on those trees. Definitely a sparkly look on #2's pretty Christmas tree, and I liked your non-traditional color on #3 too. The dark colors made the embossing on the Christmas tree stand out beautifully! Lucky you to be able to walk around Culloden...I will just have to imagine this. At least you had some hot tea to warm you up after. Take care, have a great week. TFS

  28. What a great and varied selection. Watched the last Outlander on Saturday, well I couldn’t bear to watch some of it, poor Jamie. Can’t wait to see series two now.
