Hello Everyone, I hope you've a a good day whatever you've been doing.
Thank you all so much for the lovely birthday wishes, and I did have a lovely day, a quiet one but nothing wrong with that. In the afternoon I was with Milo and Rowan who gave me beautiful yellow roses... now how did they know that yellow is my favourite colour. Anyway, it's all over , but at least I can sit and admire the beautiful cards received from family and friends. A former work colleague phoned that I last saw about a year ago, and we had a lovely long chat, I was so surprised that she had remembered my birthday as I can't remember hers.
Thanks also for the many lovely comments on my last card, you are all so kind.
I have a card to share tonight,
One of my new stamps from Crafty Individuals called Discovery, stamped in Nautical Blue from Momento Inks. background paper is also from Crafty Individuals, all beautiful nautical images.
The seagull is from CB and the ship's wheel and anchor are freebies from Creative Stamping Magazine. It's all stamped in blue with Silver Sakura pen for a but of sparkle. The sentiment is CB.
Just a card for my box, you never know when you'll need a male card, having said that I wouldn't be put out to receive a nautical themed card, I love sailing ships and have been lucky to be one the real Discovery, Captain Scott's ship for going to the Antarctic... or is it the Arctic ... I never remember. Many years ago I go to go on the Victory, for those who might not know it was Admiral Nelson's Flag ship, now that was an amazing visit, and we were taken around by sailors dressed in the clothes of the day, very interesting.
So, that's all for the time being, keep well everyone and see you soon,
so glad you had a lovely birthday Kate - its lovely to have time to enjoy it! I love your card for tonight too - a beautiful stamp and that paper is fabulous too! Big hugs rachel x

Hi Kate, belated birthday wishes - sorry I missed the big day. I like my birthdays to be quiet these days. I think the days of big celebrations are behind me and I prefer a night in with my DH instead. Your card is lovely - perfect for a male card but, like you, I wouldn't mind receiving a card with a nautical theme too. We are hoping to see the two ships that are in Dundee next week when we are on holiday. Take care, Elizabeth xx

ReplyDeleteI have been on the Victory - I couldn't believe how small it was, I don't think I would have wanted to be a sailor in those days!

Hi Kate, loving this card. A fabulous stamp and you have teamed it up beautifully with the background paper. Nice to see an image stamped in blue for a change. I too have been on Nelson's Flag ship many, many years ago, we took our son's and I was surprised to see how cramped the sleeping quarters were !
ReplyDeleteHugs Jennifer xx.
Hi Kate
ReplyDeleteNow, did you have a look around HMS Victory before or after Nelson went to Trafalgar lol?
Lovely nautical card. I shall have to remember you're a bit of a salty sea dog.
Folk shout "a vast behind" at me so I must be too lol!
