Star of Wonder and A Little Vintage Card,for CCC!

Hello to Everyone, I hope you  are well and enjoying your weekend.

It's time once again for the Christmas Card Club Ladies to share their fortnightly creations with you.  It was our lovely Zoe who chose the theme this time  and it's Star of Wonder or Anything Goes.
Well, I was a bit stumped for the Star of Wonder and thought that it was just the Anything Goes,I would manage, but a good old rake around and came up with bits and pieces to make this one;
Sue Wilson's silent night die cut up to give me just the stars, a further delve and I found the perfect stamp which says Star of Wonder.  It was part of a set Creative Stamping magazine a year or so ago.

However, I bought a lovely Crafty Individuals stamp a few weeks ago and was desperate to use it, so my next card is for Anything Goes;
Isn't this image just lovely? I've given it a wee bit of colour with Derwent pencils, lots of glitter and some pretty papers, twine and a few buttons.
Do visit the other Ladies as their creations will be just wonderful.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my Friday Oldie and the Birthday wishes, you are very kind.

Just before I sign off, here is one of the Blackbird babies that's been having a feed;

I couldn't get close enough, so you might have to enlarge it, he has been around all day, and his mum has been keeping an eye out, no doubt for Teallach.  The wee thing has been battling against the odds with the baby Starlings,gosh are they hoodlums or what! He's having a bit of respite in this photo.
Till next time take care,

  1. Woiw, two great cards Kate. The first one is great for Zoe's challenge, and I just love the Crafty Individuals stamp! Lovely to see your baby blackbird. When we arrived home we found our nest in the woodpile (just outside and so close to my washing line) had a family of four babies. They are very new and when you look up at first all you can see are four beaks wide open waiting for mum and dad to bring home the goodies. We pass dozens of times a day and when mum was sitting on the eggs she just used to stare at us as we passed by. She obviously realised we were not a threat to them. Anyway, must go. Hugs Christine xx

  5. Happy Birthday Kate, I hope you've had a lovely day. I love your use of different stars on your first card and silver and blue are always a perfect combination. I'm definitely in love with the Craft Individuals stamp on your second card, so it looks like that's another one for my crafty wish list. It looks really wonderful with the backing papers that you've used. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Crafty hugs, Sandra X

  13. First: Happy Birthday! You had some grand creative fun with the Star card, and it turned out so nicely. Love the print in the big star, tying in the challenge so well. Also love how you've redesigned the SWilson star - it looks good like this! Love the blue & white color combo. #2 is just delightful, and your pencil coloring is wonderful. Like the image, and like the way you've done the mats & designing. Always enjoy your nature pictures too. I bet your kitty makes those birds so nervous. TFS & hope your day was just grand. Hugs

  14. Hi Kate, love the starry night card, so pretty. And your new stamp is lovely. The folks walking away from the viewer and the large umbrella are awesome and love how you colored it up and the papers you chose.
    We had a baby robin hopping around for days crying out for it's Mom. She was feeding it and watching out for it, but apparently it couldn't fly for some reason. Have not seen it lately, hoping it just got out of the nest too soon and finally learned to fly. Ahhh Nature.

    Hugs

  22. Two super Christmas cards Kate, good to hear you had a fab birthday too. Hope you didn't suffer too much with your yummy curry?!
    I love the second image, the wintery scene against the tartan with the touch of colour. Very seasonal.
    The big star on your first card is lovely too. Bet you didn't remember having that until the challenge came up. This is always my excuse not to get rid of anything, you never know when it might come in.

    Enjoy the rest of your Monday, hugs Erika. x

  26. Happy Belated Birthday, Kate! I hope it was fantastic! Your two cards certainly are! The designs are wonderful! Thank you for sharing the baby blackbird photo! I'm always amazed at how any of them survive, having seen lots of heartbreaking incidents in my own yard. Here it's the scrub blue jays that are the hoodlums, especially against my wee hummingbirds. Sigh. But such is life. BTW, your garden is beautiful!! Hugs, Darnell

  27. Hi Kate
    A wonderful buy one get one free lol!
    I'm sure we had a rude version of We Three Kings at school lol!
    Your new stamp is fab and great idea to chop into Sue's die.
    It costs us a fortune in grapes when Mr & Mrs B have a brood on the go but they are a joy, bless em.
