The Night Before Christmas!

Hello to You all, I hope you are well and ready for tomorrow.

I'm all prepared, and too bad if there is something forgotten, not the end of the world.

Christmas time for me and Damian has mixed emotions, as my mum died  on the 17th of December and her funeral was on Christmas Eve, an although that was 13 years ago, it still feels like yesterday. However, I was lucky to have mum as long as I did.  Christmas can be a difficult time for may folks for all sorts of reasons, and it's a time of reflection for all the good things in my life, and a reminder to not take it all for granted. Whilst I was still working I worked with many people who had nothing much, even not good health.  So Yes I have many blessings.

I want to thank everyone of my lovely blog Followers and Visitors for all your words of encouragement throughout the year, I appreciated all your visits and comments.

Here is my last card for the year and it is just so perfect for today;
This charming image is from Crafty Individuals, I love it.

Wishing You All a Very Merry and Peaceful Christmas and a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year, I hope 2018 will be a kind year to Everyone.

Love and Hugs

Lovely card Kate. I know what you mean about mixed feelings about Christmas. My dad died on Christmas Day 2000 and my mum died two weeks before Christmas 8 years later and her funeral was a few days before Christmas. Plus I have other issues to overcome this year. But I think the important thing is to try and make the best of it and smile over the memories. Have a lovely Christmas. Hugs Christine xx

Hey Sugar! What a perfect image for a Christmas card and as I am viewing your blog on Christmas Eve Day -- it really is perfect!
Thank you so much for the beautiful Christmas card you sent me Kate.
It really is stunning. Thank you for thinking of me.
I haven't sent out a single Christmas card this year -- I just have not been up to snuff this year and let time get away from me.
I do not follow many people on line anymore but I keep up with you. As you know, I love to read about your life with Alistair , Damian and the cat and dogs.
Christmas can be a sad time of year -- I think one feels more deeply about the people in need. And I know how you feel about the death of your Mum. My grandmother died some 45 years ago and I feel as if it was yesterday. I still feel the pain and miss her terribly.
Merry Christmas sweet friend - I am so glad our paths crossed.

Your card is lovely Kate and the image is just perfect for the day - or should that be night. I'm tracking Santa on my laptop!

I understand what you mean. The magic went from Christmas when we lost our son but we do enjoy the day with a bachelor friend who has been spending Christmas Day with us for many years now. He's such a pleasure to feed and will always have seconds and the three of us raise our glasses at the dinner table and remember the loved ones who are no longer with us. I know I have much to be grateful for and give thanks for my warm comfy bed every night.

Wishing you and Alistair, Damien and Moreen and your furry family a very Happy and peaceful Christmas. and I look forward to visiting you again in the new year. Hugs, Barbxx

Merry Christmas lovely lady. I love your card! It's 17 years since I lost my mum, and I still miss her, but we are also making new memories and making the most of family time. As you say, we can be grateful for what we have got, and within that I know I am rich with friendship. I hope you and Damian have a lovely peaceful Christmas and I look forward to seeing your beautiful creations in 2018 xxx

Hi Kate
Such a lovely card & makes you think back to Christmas with the innocence of youth.
Mr D just asked if I'd had a happy Christmas, despite what's happening health wise & I said, we have a roof over our heads, we are warm and fed which is a lot more than some folk have.
Sometimes you have to count the blessings rather than the stressings.
Wishing you every happiness dear friend.

What a sweet CI image Kate and love the pretty background. I can understand that losing your Mum so close to Christmas makes it harder to enjoy the festivities, but as you say we all have lots of things to be grateful for. I hope that aside you had a good Christmas and I know in Scotland new year is a much bigger celebration than it is down south, and I look forward to seeing lots more of your beautiful creations throughout 2018. x

Perfect card for this night, and I love the little tiny sprig of delicate lace behind the golden bells. I understand the bittersweet feeling of this time for you, but at least time has passed so that you can be thankful for the long years you had a wonderful Mom. It's a good time to reflect on the blessings we all have in our lives. Hope your Christmas and New Year were good days for you & A, and all of your sweet family. TFS & Hugs too. Happy 2018.

Oh my, what a sweet Christmas card. The children, the window with Santa flying away, so darn sweet. The pretty lace and bells. Lovely design, Kate.
I lost my Dad 25 years ago on Dec 22, and the funeral was on the 24th. So Christmas is always bittersweet with memories of happier times when we were all together. But the wee ones in our family remind us that life goes on and they bring the most joy to Christmas. Happy New Year Kate.

Hugs
Sue
