Keep Climbing!

Hello to You All, I hope you are having  a good weekend with some good weather. We are a bit overcast, but it's warm, in fact it feels like it could be a bit thundery and there are dark clouds which herald rain.
I decided to treat Hubby to a nice lunch out and friends recommended Tiso, the outdoor shop as they had a lovely cafe, so that's what we did and it was lovely, and it gave Alistair an opportunity to look at bikes. He's decided he needs a new one, and right enough, the one he uses just for going short cycles was out of the dump years ago,and since then he has fitted new wheels, tyres, brakes, and I don't know what all else. So I certainly don't grudge him a new one. He is astounded at the price of them now, around £600 and upwards into the £1000s. Most of them come with disc brakes which for Alistair means that if they break he won't be able to mend it himself, so it seems these latest bikes cost a lot to maintain. However, my only input is that he never spends money on himself so just go for it if you want.  He could still be in a quandary this time next year, he takes his time in making up his mind.

Anyway, I want to thank you all on the lovely comments on my last cards, I always appreciated them and the time you take to visit me.

Here is what I have for you today;
Card made for Alistair's friend who like him is a climber, but unfortunately he is badly in need of a hip replacement but is terrified of the op, so Alistair wanted a wee card to give him a bit of encouragement.
Stamp by Our Daily Bread, the sentiment also, it's from a religious set of stamps with various  quotes from the bible, but this is a fab stamp for Willie. Kept a simple black and white colour theme. I hope it does the trick for him. They have been friends from school days and share their love of climbing from that earlier time when they decided there must be something better out there than the back courts of the Glasgow tenements and street corners, and they have climbed all over the world together.

The postie has just been and delivered some Oxide Inks, away to have a play with them now.
Enjoy your weekend and see you soon,

This is a lovely card Kate and I'm sure that Alistair's friend will really appreciate it. The weather's been glorious here today and it's been so nice to take time out to relax in the garden. Lucky you getting some Distress Oxides, they're definitely on my crafty wish list. Crafty hugs, Sandra x

I was going to say that this was a perfect card to give him a push in the right direction, but that sounds like I'm pushing him off the mountain! Fab card, enjoy your play with your new inks, looking froward to hearing your thoughts on them x

Bikes are an awful price these days, I am not surprised Alistair is still thinking!!

Hi Kate
Beautiful CAS card. Just right and needs no more.
Sounds like he'll need the op if he wants to keep climbing, bless him.
Eeek, that's some price for a bike. I'd gently nudge him to the new hobby of roller skating or skate boarding lol!!!
Best wishes.

Firstly I have a husband who takes a long while to make his mind up too so I do understand xxx What a perfect card today and what a shame Alistair's friend has to have a hip replacement, he's going to love this card x What wonderful memories they must have x

A beautiful scene, Kate, and quite stark on the white card, lets that scene be the only thing you need to see!!! Lovely card, hope it does the trick for Alistair's friend. Men aren't as impulsive as women when it comes to buying something....he'll know when he finds just what he is looking for.

Hugs
Sue

This is a fabulous card Kate, love the stamp and the sentiment, so appropriate for your Hubby's friend. I'm sure they could write a book about their escapades over all those years of climbing together.

Enjoy your new Oxides, looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Have a good week and many thanks for stopping by my blog, much appreciated.
Love & Hugs Jennifer xx.

That's such a fabulous stamp Kate. It looks very striking in black and white and will certainly give Alistair's friend a reminder of what he is missing. My mum had her op a year ago and has been marvelous ever since. She is like a new woman at 86!
A little cooler here today thank goodness, I hope you had a lovely play with your oxides, looking forward to seeing your creations.

Super card Kate. The design looks fabulous in black and white.
Hope Alistair's friend is able to have his op soon. I did smile when I read your post. Erm...terrified of ops. Like mountain climbing doesn't look scary!!! These action men, what are they like.
We have always mended everything and it is difficult when you have lived like that to then go and treat yourself to something new especially when everything is so expensive.
Hugs Flo xx
