Quilts and Friends!

Hello Everyone, and I do hope all is well with you.
Thank you to all who visited and left comments on my poinsettias cards, I am so pleased you liked them. I was on a bit of a roll wasn't I.

Yesterday was my lovely friend Dale's birthday and I always try to find something that reflects her hobbies and interests. I'm lucky really as she is the most wonderful sewer/quilter, and the most talented florist, can't go wrong there.  So here is the card I made;
This lovely Woodware stamp jumped into my hand the other week and I thought just perfect for Dale's card. I had actually made a floral one for her, but changed my mind when I saw this.
Coloured with SN pens and the papers are patchwork from a Papermainia pad, it's a teddy bear one, can't remember the name.

I thought I would also show some photos of the my hero on one of his play away days;

Now I photographed photos so they are not the best, I couldn't be phaffed with all the scanning in on the computer.
I think the first two are on Ben Nevis and the last one is on top of one of the Torridon mountains.

As you know who pop in often to visit, he is away in Greece just now climbing, and having a great time. One of "the boys" posted a photo of him climbing on a cliff in Klymnos, and it frightened the
 bejeesus  out of me, completely sheer cliff face, just amazing what a 70 year old can do with an artificial hip.

I hope I've not bored you too much, I'm off now for a mooch around your blogs,  see you soon,
Take care

Perfect card for your quilting friend. The sentiment is lovely as well.
Don't you just love when a card comes together, for someone special.

Oh my, when you said he went climbing, I had no idea it was this kind of climbing, bless him, as a person who doesn't like heights, it makes me dizzy just looking at the pics, ha ha. Good for him, although I am sure you worry.

Hugs
Sue

Lovely combination of sentiment and paper Kate hope your friend liked her card. Alistair certainly likes to keep active but I can see why you were worried can't stand heights so this is definitely not for me.

Hi Kate,
what a brilliant card for your friend, and so perfect for someone that quilts.
Love your fab wonderful colours also.
I bet she was so pleased with it.
My your hubby must be remarkably fit to do all that at his age.
Isn't it just lovely to know they have their own interests even if it must frighten you at times.
My Hubby is a radio ham, and loves to mend old clocks.
He hates to be sitting doing nothing.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Since I love quilts, I adore this pretty card, and perfect for your sewer friend's birthday. Liked the pattern effect of the background & the sentiment is wonderful. Also enjoyed the pictures you've shared. No WAY would I want to attempt this - at ANY age! Kudos to Alistair for being so brave & active (and yes, it would scare me to death to see it as well!)Glad he is having a good time, and keeping safe! Your photos looked great to me. TFS & Hugs

Kate, it's official your husband is bonkers, don't mean it really. He obviously enjoys the thrill of the climb. Great photographs. If I was you I wouldn't want to know if it was a scary climb.

Love your card, just perfect for a quilter. The sentiment is just perfect and great quilting effect in the background with your paper piecing.

Hugs Erika. x
