Free Climbing Friday Oldie!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying this rather upturn in the weather, at least ours is lovely up here in the North of Scotland.  I hope it lasts.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my previous post, especially about my Action Man.  I want to give a BIG HELLO to Pamellia who is my new Follower, I am delighted that you have found your way over here and decided to Follow.  I know may of you know of Pamellia's blog and her wonderful cards and the beautiful wild life photos she posts, but if you don't it's well worth a look see.

Anyhow with climbing in mind I've looked out an Oldie to join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts Friday Oldie today and you can find her here;
As you see this was a birthday card made for Alistair a few years ago.  I have to say that thankfully he does not free climb any more. I think he did when he was much younger.  Now this is scary stuff, not ropes or others to hold you., just some karabiners and a bag of chalk.

Please have a go at joining in with us, it's just for fun and it's good to see how your crafting has changed over time. There a quite a few of us now who join Erika.

I'm not on Milo watch today as Damian is working from home, and I'm so pleased as I had a crashing fall whilst in Tesco earlier today. I slipped on a strawberry and went down on an elbow and a knee, which are both stinging, so I expect bruises at some point. Don't you feel daft though, at the time I was more concerned with my pride, thankfully a kind lady helped to haul me up, that would have been another fiasco trying to do that.  However, I had to go and find an assistant to clear up in case someone else became a cropper, and it wasn't until I was home that I realised that the young lad didn't ask if I was alright, nor did he indicate that it should have been recorded in the accident book.  So I'm left wondering about their staff training.  So just to make the manager aware that there is a hiatus in staff training, I've phoned them, but the duty manager wasn't available so I'm waiting for him to phone back.  Not that I want the young lad to get into any sort of bother, but good staff training and customer service is one of the things that I think is so important, and the last think I'm thinking of doing is contacting Injury Lawyers 4 you.

Anyway, back to Milo, he is doing so well, and it's a joy to spend time with him. He was fascinated by the tortoises who were all out in the garden yesterday, in their pen.  He has had his first injections so it won't be too long before we can go walkies.

A longer post than intended, so I'm off now to link up with Erika.
Hope you enjoy your day and see you soon,

Hi Kate,
I think I remember this delightful Oldie.
So appropriate for your DH.
I bet he loved it.
oooooooooooooo ah! I bet you sore now not nice a fall anywhere it does hurt so much as you get a little older.
So glad you didn't break anything though.
That was very bad customer service because as you say it must go in the accident book in case of later injuries.
My DH had a piece of plaster fall on him in Waitrose toilet, and they put it in the accident book, and then sent him a £20 voucher to use at the shop.
Have a very wonderful weekend.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Sorry to hear about your fall, but you are too right that your injuries should have been noted by the store (and I hope you keep a good followup on this. With notes as to the day & time of the accident). Yes, one does feel foolish when landing like this, but the main thing is that you don't have further repercussions from your spill. Enjoyed this card, and how perfect for your Action Fella. I'm glad to read he's not doing THIS kind of climbing. Oh no, not I! In any lifetime!!! Delightful card, and watch out for the spill bruising. TFS & Happy wkend.

This is a fabulous image and card Kate.
I hope you don't have any side effects from your fall either, sometimes these things hit us a few days later. Take care.

Kate I hope you are ok?
Our bosses would be on that in an instant.

You hubby used to what?!
Free climb.
Bet you are very relieved he doesn't do that anymore.

I love your card, the photograph is amazing, love the sky. The climber is mad though! I guess with hubby doing search and rescue, I've heard far too many stories that didn't end well. The nature of the job I suppose.
You have matched the background colours perfectly too.

Thanks for sharing your oldie with me today, have a super weekend.

Hugs Erika. x

Wonderful oldie Kate love the image. Hope you are left with no ill effects after your fall, the assistant should certainly have referred the incident on to a member of the management team, there will have been paperwork to complete
it sounds as though training is required. Perhaps they can review the store CCTV, I hope they call back.

Beautiful card. I'm glad he's given up free climbing too! I hope you didn't hurt yourself too badly with your fall. You're quite right that it should have been recorded in the accident book. I hope the duty manager phones soon. I have to admit I wonder about the staff training in Tesco. I was in there on 20th April and they still had some Goats Milk on the shelf that was use by 15th April! I grabbed the nearest worker and shoved a carton in his face reminding him that it's illegal to sell items past a use by! Hope the puppy cuddles made you feel better, Cara x

Such a wonderful, masculine card Kate, I bet Alistair loved it! I'm really sorry to hear about your fall and I hope that you're not sore for too long. You should al least have been checked out by the store's First Aider, and the incident should have been recorded in an accident book. You look after yourself. I suggest feet up and card making to aid a speedy recovery ;) X

Sorry to hear about your fall Kate, I think you're right in that it's usually your pride that hurts more than anything but I definitely think it should have been recorded.
Lovely card, I think it's nice to look back on older work and I'm relieved to hear he's not free climbing any more!

Enjoy your weekend

Hi Kate

A great oldie share .. .. I bet you are pleased those "free climb" days are over! I know I would be!

Hope you are OK after your "strawberry" experience. I used to work for a law firm and you would be surprised how many people used to "slip on a grape" in a supermarket and some had some really bad injuries! So pleased that didn't happen to you. Can't believe the supermarket haven't found "someone" to speak to you. Shame on them!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Love Jules xx

Morning Kate. Fabulous photo. Free climbing! Really scary stuff. I did watch a program on tv once about how fit you had to be and how many calories a climber used up in one climb. Amazing really. Hope your bruises heal quickly. You can tell Alistair "whilst you have been climbing, I have been busy supermarket sliding...It's all the rage now"!! :)
Take care, hugs, Flo xx

Hi Kate
Hope your bumps and bruises are better now......and you said I needed a full time carer lol!
A very fitting card for Bear Currie. Hope he and his karabiners aren't sunburnt.

Gosh sounds like you took a tumble Kate, I hope you're OK and aren't too stiff and sore. That's bad form on their behalf not to show concern, you did the right thing getting in touch with the manager - it's very hard to notice things like that when you're in a bit of shock after falling. Your card is gorgeous, as always!

Glad to know you were not seriously injured in your fall. I fall all the time - as you probably know, I have broken both of my hips! I know the gift certificate was a pleasant surprise.

Oh Kate - what am I going to do -- I seem to stay behind so much!! I am enjoying the Christmas Card Club so much. Thank you!
