A Parliament of Owls!

Hello Everyone, hope you are all fit and well and enjoying your day.

We've had snow overnight, now that was a wee bit of a shock, it's mostly all away now though and it's turned out a lovely day.  We went of a walk around Culloden Battlefield, and because it's higher up than we are there was quite a bit of the white stuff, but the sun was shining so it was very pleasant and we were wrapped up warmly.

Alistair has a good visit with Jim his brother, and returned last night. He was also meeting up with his oldest pal from school days and some other friends from his former climbing days as they are all going to Greece for a climbing holiday in a few months time. He was remarking that they, the friends, are all quite old...... meaning that he is not. Funny how one thinks they are still not as old as their contemporaries, even although they are.  Bless him!.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last card, I love reading them and appreciate each and every one.

I have card made using a Chocolate Baroque stamp which was their November AYOS stamp;
Now I thought that the collective noun for owls was College, my reasoning for this is that owls are deemed as  wise, but the noun is  Parliament,  isn't that odd cos in my opinion there aren't many wise individuals in Parliament.

Anyway, it's a fabulous stamp and I've coloured it with SN Alcohol pens and added sparkle with the new glitter pen.
Lesley from CB created the background paper and I've matted and layered on to brown and green card. Centura Pearl light gold card embossed with a SB EF. Foliage dies are also from SB. CB Sentiment from the Macintosh set of sentiments.

It's quite Autumnal looking, but I have to admit to these being some of my favourite colours.

Well that's my share for today, off now to have a colouring session with my new CB Floral stamps which are gorgeous, and my wonderful Kuretaki watercolour paints which I just love, so I will see you soon. Enjoy your day,

Hi thought I would pop in while I was on the computer, so much easier. Love your owls, I forgot that a group is called a Parliament. :)

No snow here, yet, but very cold and plenty of hail.

Your parliament of owls card is super Kate. There's lots of interest in your lovely card. Your remarks made me smile too.

I'm with Alistair and that made me smile too. I just have a nasty shock every time I look in a mirror because I've never moved on from 36 in my head! You walk sounds lovely. It reminded me of our holiday in Tenerife when we went on a trip to Mount Tiede. There was snow all around and we were standing in the sunshine. It was quite magical. Barbxx

Love the owls Kate one of my favourite birds, and they are beautifully coloured to tone in with your papers and card. Snow here this morning as well, looks like we are to have more over the next 24-36 hours take care hugs Megxx

Oh Kate you made me laugh reading this, I am all the way with you regarding a college of owls. A parliament of owls must have been decided by someone with a great sense of humour. That's the last place you'd find a wise owl!
That said U love your owls with their added sparkle.

I am still reading the Outlander series, about book 8 now, far, far away from Culloden but it still makes me instantly think of your visit today. I wish I'd know the author visited Inverness I would have made the trip over.

Enjoy the rest of your evening, hugs Erika. x

It's awesome that you were able to visit a place I've only read about. I can imagine the feelings that this site must bring about. Loved your cute card with the wonderful owls. Looks very textured, and the forest green of the branches added some pretty color over the other papers. Glad that A. had a good visit, and is back home so you all can enjoy some rambles in the good weather. TFS

Hi Kate,
what a very fab card.
I love your Parliament of owls, and your fab design.
Now you are not wrong about there being no one wise in Parliament, and I do quite agree with you.
Seems like a bunch of fools more like.
Have a lovely weekend.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I don't look in the mirror. It lies to me every time I do!! I did remember that was he name for a group of owls. Some of the other nmes for groups of animals are quite odd ones as well. I love the colours on this card and your Parliament of Owls are perfect. Now if they could just pass a law to ban winter it would be great!! Hugs Mrs A.

You come with a funny post! That is a real "hoot" about Alistair thinking his buddies are old.
Now that is odd that a group of owls are called "a parliament"? And I find it quite humorous that you now have a parliament of owls!! That is a 'HOOT"!
Hopefully you are not angry with me anymore -- I do not carry anger long - I find it hurts me more than the person I am angry at.
Great card!!
