A Cup of Cheer!

Good Evening to You and I hope you are having a nice relaxing evening, unless of course you're out clubbing in which case I hope your are having a bouncing evening.  I'm way beyond clubbing now, in fact in my youth it was called going te the dancin.  I have mentioned to Alistair a number of times that it's a pity that there isn't somewhere for older people to go in the evening in Inverness for dancing.  I just love the old films where you see people having a twirl around the floor and having a cocktail or two and a live band playing. Those Golden Years long gone, even before my time, but wouldn't it be grand to have it back.

Well if you are a Shakespeare fan I would highly recommend Macbeth, a bit gory and dark, but beautifully filmed. Now I don't know Michael Fasebender from Adam, but I reckon he did a good job as the Thain of Cawder. At least his Scottish accent was fine, unlike Mel Gibbson's in Braveheart.
The Scottish scenery was fabulous, especially the scenes shot in Skye of the Quiraing.

Had a busy day house wise today, got loads of chores done, Alistair was away at a thing to do with archaeology as it's the Highland Archaeology week, he goes every year, but he thought it wasn't worth the £15 this year, pleased I decided not to go, some of the speakers were a tad boring and he dosed off.

Anyway, here is a Christmas card;
I bought a selection of Sheena Douglass stamps last year and never got around to using them, this is one of them. They are wonderful to colour and I've used SN Pens to do that. I have loads of Hunkydory embossed card, bought yonks ago, so I thought this navy and gold one would go well as a background. A bit of glitter and that was that. I could just go a lovely hot choc.
Sorry that the photo is a bit blurred, hope your eyes can take it.

Alistair has just brought in a coffee and a little gingerbread man, so I will say good night and thank you for your lovely comments on my Oldie,

Evening Kate, what a lovely Christmas card. It does look fun to colour in. That is a lovely stamp. I have Christmas stamps bought several years ago that have never been inked and I still buy more every year.

Interesting reading what you said about the dances we used to have. We've just watched Strictly. My hubby & I met at 15 and used to go to dancing classes and to the town hall every Saturday with the glitter ball etc. We took up dancing again some years ago and hired our village hall a couple of mornings a week. It has a sprung floor and we used to take our music and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately because of my arthritis we had to give it up a bout three years ago.

Have a lovely weekend. Barbxx

You are making me want a hot chocolate now Kate! Lovely Christmas card though. I know what you mean about seeing them dance on the old films. I love to watch Strictly too. I'd love to be able to do a lovely waltz or foxtrot. Ah well, you can dream eh?

Delightful to visit with you this afternoon. Loved hearing that Fassbender was good in MacBeth. He also played Rochester in one of the Jane Eyre movies, and was good (at least I thought so). Loved hearing your recollections about going dancing back in the day (I have 2 left feet, so was never really very good at it, altho when we were teens, we'd stroll around the floor trying to do the dance of the day). I love to watch ballroom dancing, and always thought it'd be fun to take lessons. DH said he wasn't interested, and I wasn't brave enough to go on my own! Your card is so pretty...glad you are using some SDouglass NBUS items. Made such a lovely look against the embossed gold too. The coffee & gingerbread sound yummy, especially if it is a chilly night. TFS & have a wonderful Sunday. Expect we will be riding north! Hugs

This is a very lovely stamp Kate and makes a great focal piece for your card. I have lots of unused Christmas stamps too, I keep trying to get to them but then something else crops up. Hope you enjoy your Sunday.

What a coincidence Kate a gingerbread man and gingerbread in your stamp, great colouring, the colours in the gingerbread especially are life like, I found that the most difficult bit when I made my card with this stamp. Hoping to see Macbeth later this week thought the preview looked excellent and now you have recommended it it's a must enjoy your Sunday Megx

He he I gad to smile that he dosed off rather than dozed, just imagine Alistair with a big bottle of medicine! Quiet night in for us, you are right about dances, no clubbing for us. Gorgeous card, what a fab image. Have a lovely day x

Hello dear Kate. Love your take on the card. Like you I bought the full set last year to and forgot all about them, you see out of sight ,out of mind. I loved the Dancing when I was young, but Andrew never enjoyed it and felt it was just a waste of energy. Have a Good Day. Hugs Rita xxx

Hi Kate,
what a wonderful Christmas card.
That stamped image is so perfectly coloured, and what a wonderful stamp to own.
It's funny because I looked at the image, and thought of Gingerbread, and then you mentioned it at the end.
Wonderful and luxurious backing card too.
Hope you enjoyed the Gingerbread, and now I am hungry after all the mention of the fore said food.
Can't you tell I love my food, especially sweet treats.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
