Oriental Fan Card and some Craft Fair Photos!

Hello Everyone, and I hope you are all warmer than I am today. It's turned out to be a horrible wet and very cool day, I'm thinking that I must go and put a pair of socks on.

I do hope you are all well, but if not, them sending out kind thoughts for a speedy recovery.
Thank you too for all the lovely comments on my Oldie card, very kind indeed, also for the tips, advice and good wishes for the craft fair.  As I had no idea what to expect, I enjoyed the day, but I thought it was pretty quiet, people milling around but not really buying much, it felt like they were there for a nosey around, I sold a few cards, so I was happy about that, but I really didn't want to be bringing so many home again.
Dale had her sewing stall, but again sales were poor, and she was a bit despondent, but I think that she was trying to sell her beautiful creations in the wrong place, and perhaps more of a Christmas fair would be better.  Amanda, who was showing her gorgeous bespoke frames, took in a good few orders as did her dad with his framed comic books.
It was all a lot of work though, but new things are always worth trying.

I loved the comment made by one lady at my stall " oh what lovely cards, simply gorgeous, and I'd buy some, but then I would forget where I put them so I'd better not"  I could hardly keep my face straight, but hey ho, her loss.

My card today is one that did sell with it's box;

A Fan card from the Kimono CD by Crafter's Companion, easy enough to put together, just a lot of cutting out. Sparkle and Pearls and I make the stand.
The box was made because it would never fit into an envelope, the sentiment is from the CD and I've used Die'Sire Lantern dies and peel off borders.

Here too is a photo of my stall:
Notice my lovely assistant reading the paper.  I don't have any stands. so just had to lay them out like this.
This is Dale's stall;
Lovely tea cosies, nappy bags, ipad cushions, bags made form old jeans, knitting bags, oh she had been very busy.

I have more photos but for another day.

Right it is definitely sock time, I can't feel my feet.

I'm away behind in my commenting with being away, I will try to get around, but please forgive if I miss you out, not intentional.

See you all soon,

Like Sue I would love to have a table at a craft fair but I wouldn't have the nerve! I'd be mortified if nobody bought anything!!! I'm so glad you sold some cards, even if not as many as you would have liked. This fan card is very pretty so it's not surprising somebody snatched it up! It hasn't been too cold today so we went out for a drive and a walk around the lake in a quiet village about 10 miles from here., although I mu=st admit the breeze was a bit chilly when you left the shelter of the trees. Hugs Christine xx

Brilliant photos Kate, love all the beautiful creations. Sorry you did not do as well as expected.
Craft Fairs are funny things. Some times your busy, sometimes there are just lookers.
Love, love, love, your stunning card, it's amazing. Not surprised it sold quickly.
We had the heating on for an hour in the afternoon just to take the chill off the place. Socks on here as well.
Such a change from yesterday when I had on a strappy T-Shirt.
Stay cozy hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Hugs

Kate, so sorry you and Dale didn't have the greatest of days. As Patricia has said fairs are funny things. Especially if you get a lot of lookers, they come and pick up touch feel thrn put down and walk away. Your fan card is stunning along with its beautiful box. Someone appreciated all the work that had gone into it. Dale has beautiful, makes too, maybe she should hold something in her house. Invite a few friends and ask them to bring a friend telling them what's going to be on offer and then you and her can set a room up and sell your wonderful creations. Patricia and I did that a couple of times and it did work, did make loads but far, far more than a craft fair did and it's more relaxed. Hazel x

Ooo I like your fan card Kate, I've not seen that style before. It is lovely.
Your stall looks great too, lots of choice.
I found that with craft fairs, very hit and miss, some were great some weren't worth getting out of bed for!
I found the best ones were when you knew folk to talk to or in places where you already had regular customers.

Hugs Erika. x

Hi Kate,
wonderful card and box.
Great designing and wonderful colour.
Nobody seems to appreciate the work that goes into craft these days except if your are a crafty person yourself, and no how much work is involved.
I remember when I did a craft fair with my niece, and I couldn't take my cards as she was taking hers, so I made boxes, and milk cartons, but the turn out at the fair was very poor, and we didn't sell much.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I loved your pictures Kate - looking forward to you sharing more. Your card is beautiful and certainly one of a kind. I don't know what the economy is like in Scotland but people are still watching their dollars here.
By the way, I wear socks all year long!
