Song Bird and a Cute Fur Baby!

Hi to Everyone! How are you all today? Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my CCC card, very kind and encouraging, make it all worth while.

  Boy was it cold last night, in fact all day, but it comes to something when I had to wear my thermal underwear under my clothes and a scarf around my neck when in the house, and the heating on.  I wonder what we'll do when it gets cold, ha ha!

It was a gorgeous day though, the sun was shining and for a lot of the time the sky was blue, but bitterly cold.  We had planned a walk,  for yesterday, I'm trying to overcome my aversion to exercise and make an effort to get out more. I really could become a recluse given the chance.  Anyway, Alistair is delighted as he loves walking. I don't to hills though, a flat walk I can manage.  We decided to go to Findhorn Bay, it's a lovely drive there, and not too far from Inverness.  We had lunch out to save rushing back to make an evening meal so the day was ours. Made a flask of coffee for when we got back to the car and set off.  It was beyond cold with a wind blowing that felt as it it was lacerating my face, I was cosy everywhere else though, but we only managed about 20 minutes, actually Alistair seemed to feel the cold more than me.  I was hoping to see some seals, which I did but through the binoculars unlike Hubby on a walk before Christmas when he saw this little guy, sorry picture heavy here, but the Aw factor is worth it;

Isn't he so gorgeous, the baby seal I mean. Alistair and his friend found him on the beach, thinking he was dead they went over to investigate, but he wasn't dead, just having a wee sleep. Alistair approached him very carefully, and don't worry he didn't touch him, but the wee thing was so curious and not the least afraid.  Alistair then noticed the adult seals out in the water keeping an on the baby.
I think these are just brilliant photos and can't think why humans want to kill them.  However, I just to be content to see them through the bins.

Now I really do have a card;
I've used a gorgeous CB stamp from the Pretty Bird Cage Set and followed the colours of the challenge, focusing on the lilac shade.
I've also used the beautiful free paper from CB.
Sue Wilson's border die, which I have to say was a b...er to cut out.
Liquid pearls.
I didn't want to add much as I wanted the stamp to be the focus of the card.
I've added little Wink of Stella, but it doesn't show up.

I'm sorry this has been such a long post, but I really wanted to show these photos.

That's me for today, off to put on Game of Thrones whilst I'm ironing, oh the joys of days off.
Have a lovely day whatever you're doing and I hope you enjoyed my post today
I would like to enter this card into;

Hi Kate
Awwwwww, sooooo cute. Don't you just want to cuddle him. The baby seal isn't bad either hahaha!
How wonderful to be able to get that close. Kate, sadly humans can't treat each other properly half the time so animals have no chance.
Love the card. The colours are right up my street. A fabulous mix. Have to say on the die front, I went for a Cheery Lynn holly die after borrowing John's SW holly. . . . . It too was a b****r but the CL one cuts like a dream.
Have been out for a hot curry lunch with Nesta (she sends her best) so may be having a game on a different throne myself later lol!
Sorry I've waffled.

Kate wonderful photos, I love when we see seal when we go to St Andrews beach. Your card is lovely with those colours, pity about the die cut not cutting that great. Stay warm, Hazel x

The seal pics are lovely, they are so cute. I love to see them.
Like the card. I have just borrowed this one from a friend but not tried it yet, so we will see if it cuts well. I know one of the New York ones takes a lot of passes before it cuts. Pity, since they look great.
Wrap up warm, it's **** freezing on this side of the country too, these are the nights I don't like having a dog.
Cheers

Kate, first to your lovely card. Such beautiful color hues you used. Love the image and how you colored it up. Just a stunning creative card.

LOVE the pictures. We are surrounded with water here in Western New York State, but just lakes and rivers, no beautiful creatures swimming by or coming ashore. We did live in California for a time, and we saw harbor seals on the beach, always fascinating. Thanks for sharing your pictures, loved them.

Hugs
Sue

You have my admiration for being willing to walk in the windy cold. But it was worth it to see the beautiful views you have shared and that white seal. That must have been awesome to see him so closely, and what a friendly guy he was. Glad you had the warm coffee flask to take out the chill when you got back to your car. Loved the card. That is a pretty stamp, and wonderfully colored. I am impressed with that border die by SW. Don't think I've seen that one, and I LOVE her dies. Fun graphic at the end of this particular post. Stay warm. Big Hugs & TFS

PS Have you tried using wax paper with your dies?
