Words of Encouragment!

Good Evening to Everyone,  I hope you've all had a lovely Sunday and  for Mums and Grand mums a great Mothering Sunday.   Damian called in with a beautiful Hydrangea plant and some lovely smellies.  Hope I don't kill off the plant, I don't have the greenest of fingers. Anyway it was lovely to see him and catch up with is news.

We have been really cold here today, quite dull but you could see the sun trying to peek through the clouds, but it never made it.  Spring is most definitely here though, lots of gorgeous Spring flowers out now, I love all the bright  colours don't you!
Not much news so I'll get on and show you my card :
I've made this one for my Stepson, who is going through some tough times and needs a bit of reassurance'
Bazzil Gunmetal coloured card, it's sort of shimmery, don't know what's called
Papermaina Paper pack

A very simple card really, I hope the words will help him.

Thank you all who left great comments on my last card, Jim phoned on his birthday to say how much he liked it, so I'm well pleased.

Have the Best Day Ever!

Hello Everyone, how are you all today?  I hope you are having a lovely weekend, whatever your doing.  I was working yesterday and for some reason it felt an awfully long day, but I managed to get a lot of admin done as a client failed to turn up for his counselling session, but that's the nature of my job.

Well we have had snow, and it's much colder too, caught out this morning with a ferocious shower as we were out shopping, had to sit for ages in the car until it eased up a bit.  Now the sun is shining, curious weather or what.

Just a short post from me today as one of my clients has asked me to type out a letter that he's written complaining about a doctor in his surgery who was very rude to him.  He has however penned it whilst extremely angry, so I have to make it into a less aggressive letter and fix spelling and punctuation.  So now doubt it will take me a wee while to do this.

Here is my offering for today;
LC Stamps
Promarkers
Papermaina Wellington Paper
MB Cloud Die
Xcut Border Punch
Core'dination card in Brown
Buttons from my box
Stickles Star Dust

The stamps are from the Club set a couple of months back and I thought they would mack a great card for my BIL Jim's birthday card.  He lives near the Forth and Clyde Canal and often takes walks along the bank, don't know if he's ever sen a barge there though, anyway I hope he likes it.

Just before I go let me thank you all for the lovely comments on my last card, love reading them and appreciate your time in visiting my blog.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, bye for now,

Whoo- it' your birthday!

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends, I hope everyone is well, and if not here's hoping that you'll feel better soon.

Thanks to all who left kind comments on my last card, I do appreciate the time it takes and time is at a premium these days, but I read and enjoy everyone of them.

Enjoying my days off, not doing anything exciting, it's just good to do things a at slower pace that I do at work.  I'm off to the hairdressers tomorrow, I've not been since last September as I've trying to grow out my very short style.  My stylist is such a wizard at cutting that the original shape is still there, just a bit longer, but it is time to get it tidied up.

Just a short post today, here is my card;
LC March Stamp Club image and sentiment
Promarkers
SB die
Core'dination Blue card
Kanban Paper
Embossalious Birthday Embossing Folder (but not showing up well)

This was a commissioned card for a friend's boyfriend, it's his 30th but I decided not to put an number on it.  I know he loves owls.

That's me for today, bye for now

Venice Carnival!

Hello Crafting Friends and Visitors, I hope you are well and looking forward to heading into the weekend, I'm working tomorrow, but then off until next Thursday, this part-time working is sooooo good.

I would like to thank everyone who commented on my last card, I love reading what you have to say, and a special thanks to Susan who Googled to find out when the Thornbirds was on TV.  Now I thought it was in the 70s, but it was in the 80s.  Crikey, it was a long time ago anyway.

Not much happening here in the Currie household, we have been enjoying the Spring like weather, Alistair and a couple of his chums took themselves into the Cairngorms midweek, had the most marvellous day, up to their ears with snow, but loved every minute of it.

I had the most fantastic spa treatment yesterday, I'm still very chilled out.  Alistair gave me a voucher for this treatment at The Kingsmill Spa, and that's me just getting around to making the appointment, but it was worth the wait, 90 minutes of sheer bliss.  The treatment is called Tranquillity, and it's all massage with the most gorgeous of essential oils, I was wrapped  in cling film  to help my body absorb the wonderful lotions, I also had a face and head massage.  I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the experience, where the soothing music, scented candles and dimmed lightening transported me to a peaceful meadow.  I came back feeling and smelling wonderful.  I'd forgotten how useful meditation actually is, I must get into it again.  Sadly, I couldn't afford anything like this on any kind of regular basis, such a lucky lady to be given this gift, naturally Alistair got a great big hug when I got home.

So on to my card;
TPS Venice Carnival digi image
Promarkers
SB Floral Ovals
SB Delicate Aster die
First Edition Noir et Chic Papers

Liquid Pearls in Gold

I made this card to enter into the TPS DT Call, I tried once before without luck, but maybe this time.

I'm off to have a visit around your blogs to see your lovely creations, so I will love you and leave you and hope your weekend is a really good one..... whatever you've planned.

For Granny on Mother's Day!

Hello Everyone and welcome to my blog, I hope you will like what you see here.  Thank you one and all for the lovely comments on my last card and your kind wishes for Alistair and I to feel better, they must have worked because we do, not 100% but well enough for me to go back to work tomorrow and Alistair to think of a hill walk later in the week.

I've been getting on with some ironing this afternoon, and I like doing it if there is something to watch on the TV, I found The Thornbirds, do any of you remember it?  I can't remember when it was first on the telly, but I do remember thinking Richard Chamberlain was every girl's dream, I must have been fairly youngish.  I think I've tuned into the last episode and he is a Cardinal and an old man , but still good looking, but if you remember the story, and now in my mature cynicism, his character was a selfish, ambitious and abusive man, and at the end deserved what crushed him.  I remember not missing and episode and I even read the novel, today I've enjoyed ripping it apart.  Still it got me through the bundle of ironing.

We have a a lovely weekend weather wise, feels quite Spring like although still cold, but the sun is shining and it lifts the spirits.  I'm looking  forward to getting the heating turned down a bit, I just paid the electric bill and I grudged it, the cost of heating is horrendous, I really feel for those who find it difficult to meet the cost of heating their homes, thankfully we can, but you never know what life has for you around the corner.  Nevertheless Spring is almost here, and here is my card with some Spring flowers;
I've used LC image, Club Stamp from last month
Prismacolour pencils
XCut dies
SB Corner die from Frosty Forms
Sorry can't remember the paper used
Hobby Craft Lace and Ribbon
Core'dination card in orange
Dovecraft Doily
Pearls and Butterfly from Stash
Sentiment from PC
Stickles and a few gems.

This was a commissioned card, so I hope Granny likes it.

I've got Choral practise tonight, but I don't know if my throat will stand up to the singing, but I'd better go as I missed last week with being away, I'll just have to do a lot of miming.
Take care everyone and see you soon.

Hot Air Balloons!

Hello Crafting Friends, I hope you are well and having a lovely weekend. For those who are not so well, I hope you feel better soon.

Well, I've not been around for a wee while, first we were away for our little break down to the borders and have to say that we had a lovely time,  great hotel, huge bedrooms and fab food, even the weather was with us, lots of sunshine if cold.   However, poor Alistair was not well, he had and still has a stinking cold.  He wasn't feeling all that good on the Saturday before we left, sore throat, and a bit headachey, but then he developed an awful cough.  He kept on going though and did all the driving, he was exhausted though as the cough was keeping him awake, me too.  He was a hero though.  On the way home I began to feel unwell, and yes I've ended up with a cold too, affecting me differently though, I thought my head was going to explode as my sinuses were so painful and my face was swollen, in fact I could look down and see my cheek, if you know what I mean. With a sore throat and limbs I was good for nothing.  I think we are on the mend now, thankfully.

This is the reason I've not been around, so I've missed commenting on your lovely cards, although I've been looking at the little photos that come up on my dashboard, I just didn't have the energy to do any commenting.  Lots of wonderful cards though.

Thank you all so much for commenting on my last card, you're very kind.

My card for sharing tonight is a commissioned one for a man.
I was trying to be oh so clever and make my owned inked background, I think I need a bit of practise.

I've used a balloon stamp from Creative Stamping Magazine, cut the balloons out and paper pieced them with First Editions Man Made Papers
MB Clouds Dies
Kraft card
News Print Paper from my stash
Buttons and twine from my stash
Papermania sentiment
DI for background
Star Dust to give a wee bit of sparkle
It's my first attempt at paper piecing and I think it's quite good......of course self praise is no praise at all, nevertheless.
So that is just about me for tonight, I hope everyone has a good weekend, whatever your doing, and I leave you with a photo of Alistair and his new "Best Friend"

The Skater! DT Card for CCAYR March Challenge

Good Afternoon to You All and I hope today finds you well and if not, here's a BIG HUG!

Well, I am on days off now until next Thursday, yippee!!!!! it feels like a mini holiday and indeed it is as Alistair is treating me to a few days away, so we are off to a lovely country hotel down in the Borders.  He tells me I'm worth it and deserves the break, all of which is very true of course, but joking apart, it will be lovely and I will pack my knitting and decoupage and relax.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments on my last card, you are very kind.

My card today is for March's CCAYR Challenge, and this time around it is making a card with a step design.
For some reason I found this one difficult to photograph, and the light wasn't great either.
I bought a pack of toppers last year, unfortunately I don't remember the name of them, the background card and sentiment came along with them.
MB Frosty Corners
Diesire Tree Dies
Hobby Craft Ribbon
Gems from my box
Icicles Stickles

Remember to pop in to http://christmascardsallyearround.blogspot.co.uk/ and see what my talented team mates have created, there will be beautiful cards to give you inspiration.

Well, I'm scheduling this post for tomorrow, hope it works.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, whatever you plan to do and see you soon.
