Pretty Card for Mother's Day!

Good Evening to you All, I hope everyone is good, but if not I do hope that you'll feel better soon.
It's been a lovely day up here, blue skies, sunshine but, cold, but better than rain.  Sadly, I was at work and being frustrated by our printer running out of ink after having new cartridges put in last Thursday. I had a pile of admin work to be getting on with, but didn't get any of it done.  None of us can think why we are running out so quickly, but hopefully Amazon will have sent our new inks and we will have them tomorrow.  I hate when I'm all geared up to do something, and it doesn't happen, especially when I've cleared a space in my work diary to do it, and I am fast finding out that 18hrs. isn't a lot of time in which to do the many tasks that is expected of me.  Mind you, I'm glad I only do 18hrs.

I have a card for you tonight;

This is a commissioned card for my friend to give to her mum.
I do love these cross over cards, and I've only made one befor and then didn't manage to cut the opposit side to match, but I got it right this time.
I used a topper from a Stephanie Weightman range, Flower paper from same range.
Paper in the pocket is a freebie
Silver Mirri Card
Hobby Craft Lace and ribbon from my box
The Ribbon Girl Charm
Signature Butterfly die
SB Aster Die, made from tissue paper, I did it Hazel!!, it does help having umteen layers.
Pearls and gems from Papermania
Glamour Dust for added sparkle.

I hope Karen's mum likes it, I think she will.

Thank you everyone for visiting me and leaving kind comments, I do appreciate each and every one of them.

I've got the evening to myself, hubby off to Dingwall to watch Ross County and Caley Thistle play footy.  He will be frozen, better him than me.  It's not something he does all that often, but his friend had a free ticket, so as Alistair just loves anything that's free, off he went.

Enjoy the rest of your evening, and I see you soon,

Good Evening Everyone and I hope you are all gearing up for a great weekend.
Thank you all for the lovely comments on my last card, Dougie certainly loved it ,but still to hear if Cecillia did as well.

This is just a short post tonight, I'm a wee bit tired, had some really busy days at work and I was working late last night and that always takes it's toll, I'm working tomorrow too, so it's going to be an early night for me.

I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and his sister thought it was just the card for him, so let's hope he likes it.

Shades of Purple!

Hello Crafty Friends and Visitors, gosh Monday once again, where does the time go?????
I hope you are well and raring to go with another week.

I had a very strange strange comment left on my last post, some of you may have noticed it, I've deleted it now, but  I would just like to say to Gentleman who left it, please don't leave another of this sort, this lady is not for turning!!

However, thanks to everyone else who left very kind comments, I love reading them and always appreciative of the time you take to do this.

It's a miserable day today with drizzling rain, very dull, just perfect for getting a spot of crafting done, so here is today's offering,
Our friend Dougie asked me to make this for a friend, it has to have the friend's name, a cat, happy birthday on it and be quite girlie.

Core'dination Lilac and Green  Card
The Ribbon Girl Purple Seam Binding
Hobby Craft Lace
Flowersoft sentiment

I had fun doing this card as I've not made such a fussy one for ages, I hope Cecillia likes it.

As much as I would like to have the night in, I've got Choral practise later one so I'll have to go out into the cold and rain.  I always enjoy the evening once I'm there, it's just the thought of having to go out.

So I get myself off now and forage for our meal tonight, take care everyone

Blue Baubles!

Good Morning to One and All, I hope everyone is well, but to those who are not so well, here is a BIG HUG and I hope you fell better soon.

It is a wonderfully sunny morning here in Inverness, so I'm hoping it brightens up spirits.  My spirit is very bright as I'm off work for the next four days, however, the lovely sunshine is showing up the state of the windows so, I'm thinking this is going to be on my to do list of jobs around the house.

Thank you for all the very kind comments on my last card, they are never easy to do and I guess that is why I never have one already made in my box.

We really enjoyed our meal out on Friday night, the restaurant lived up to it's reputation, and by no means expensive, we will certainly visit there again.  All good Scottish sole food, I had steak pie and the beef melted in the mouth, Alistair had loin of pork with Stilton and an onion chutney and whiskey sauce. The deserts were to die for, Baked Alaska, and for Alistair a wonderful sticky toffee pudding.
I would definately recommend going there, it was a lovely evening.

Now, my card was to be my DT card for the mid month reminder at CCAYR, but I forgot to send it to Tracey to put on her blog post, I don't know how I managed to do this, I'm usually organised, but I think it's something to do with the days just running away.
Anyway here it is;
The Challenge is to make a card in blue and white.
Papermania Stamp
Papermania sentiment
Wow Embossing Powder
Cord'ination blue card
Blue gems and Bow also from Papermania

I hope you will visit CCAYR and see what the other DTs have made and there is still time to enter the Challenge.

That's me for now, enjoy your Sunday whatever your doing and I hope you are keeping safe from the awful floods

Your in Our Thoughts!

Good Evening Crafty Friends and Visitors, I hope you are all keeping warm and safe.
Not great weather for us today, but miles better than down South, it seams there is to be no respite there for them, just so awful for them, we have been really lucky up here.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my last post, we'll see tomorrow if Mr. Currie likes it.
We are going out for a Valentine's meal tomorrow night to a restaurant we have never been to before but has a great reputation, it's called Urquhart's, so that's to be looked forward to.

We had some sad news the other day, the wife for one of Alistair's friends host her fight against cancer. Cathy had overcome it a few years ago but sadly it came back and was really aggressive. We last saw her at a friend's daughters wedding in June and she seemed fine, can hardly believe that she has died.  What an awful disease cancer is!
We all hate making these sorts of cards, here is the one I've made for her husband Nick;
I've kept it very simple, I decoupaged the flower, I've had these for ages and really only use them for Sympathy cards.
Anita Silver Paper
SB corner from Frosty Forms
Sentiment from Flower soft, London Fog ink
Pearls from my box

That's me for tonight, off now to make a cuppa and put my feet up.
Keep well everyone and hope to see you soon

Valentine Card!

Hello to you All, I hope you are well and not experiencing all this awful weather, there are still some parts of the country in a terrible state with the flooding, my heart goes out to you all, I hope you find relief soon.

Thank you all for visiting and leaving some wonderful comments, I appreciate them so much.

Alistair and I went along to Moreen's little family gathering for her birthday last evening and, what a lovely evening it wast, and I have to report that she loved her card and gift bag, her gifts too. She was so pleased that I didn't put a hug big 50 on the front of the card, everyone else had, not Damian though, he said he still wanted to be able to walk.  We are however at little worse for wear, not the alcohol I hasten to add, but just the late hour we got home, and I'd been working yesterday so was tired to begin with, but it was all worth it as Moreen had a lovely birthday.

Quiet day in the Currie household, just been pottering around and getting some crafting done, I been asked to make some cards for a friend, so I've been trying to think what to do, but my card today is one I made a couple of weeks ago;
Well you can see who it is for, I hope he likes it.
Tattered Lace heart die and letters die
Red Glittered Card
Core'dination Red and Black Card
Papermania Heart Embossing Folder with gilding wax, but doesn't show up
Silk Hearts from my box

I've been trying to get around your blogs, but for some reason blogger is not letting on to them, don't know why this should be and I managed to get on to one of them, it's so frustrating, but maybe it will sort it's self out.

Enjoy the remainder of your Sunday and hope to see you soon

Spring Flowers!

Good Evening Crafty Friends and I hope everyone is well, but here is a BIG HUG if you're not, and get better soon.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on Moreen's gift bag, I do appreciate all the time you take to visit and comment, it gives me confidence in my crafting.

I've had some really nice days off, but I'm back at work tomorrow, so I'll not get too much crafting done over the next few days, so I've been trying to get a few made whilst I've been off.  I would have managed more but, having to go out to shops fairly takes up time, I have only managed to have one complete day at home, then when I thought I didn't need to go out for anything today, I find that I hadn't got stamping card. How can that happen!! anyway, I picked up a few bits and pieces whilst I was in Hobby Craft to keep me going.

So, here is today's card;
Some of you may recognise the image as being one of the stamps from LC's Stamp club for February.
The stamps are really lovely and make me thing of spring.
I've coloured the image with Prisma Colour Pencils and inked around the edges with DI Shabby Shutters.
XCut dies, SB corners
Green Core'dination card
First Editions New Leaf Paper
Sentiment from Hunkydory
Lace, Butterfly from my box
Hobby House Pearls
Glamour Dust
I don't usually use a DL card blank, but found this topper suited the shape.

Alistair has now finished his story and had me editing it this afternoon, it's is really very funny in parts, but he and his friends took some chances all those years ago, so I'm glad he is here to tell the tale.  I wonder what tale he will tell next, because if there is one thing my hubby is, it's a Storyteller.

I will love you and leave you now, off to have a tour around your lovely blogs, see you soon

Peacock Gift Bag!

Good Sunday Afternoon to Everyone,

I hope you are well and are having a good weekend, whatever you happen to be doing.  The weather is not too great, rain and sunshine, but pretty cold.  I do hope wherever you are that the weather isn't too awful.
It's been a day of sport here in the abode and Alistair has full control of the TV zapper, our local team, Caley Thistle are playing Hearts in some sort of Cup Final, and then its the rugby with Scotland and Ireland, I don't mind the rugby, but cant be bothered with the footy. It however leaves me in peace to get on with important things like blogging.

We went to see 12 Years a Slave last night and what a powerful film it is, awful to think human beings can behave that way to other human beings. I can see how it's up for all sorts of awards, worth going to see, if you can stand all the violence towards the slaves, I had to close my eyes at those bits.

We are waiting for a friend to come over to help Alistair with the computer, I cant' fix what he's done so Linda is a whizz with the word processing as he is an admin person.
Alistair is writing the story of his accent and decent of the Matterhorn called "The Day the Rope Got Fankled", This was many years ago when he was a young man, and it's a really funny story where the rope really did get fankled.  I'm not allowed to read it until he asks me to edit it, however he is a pain with the computer, he keeps pressing keys and icons without knowing what they do, this will be the second time Linda will come to the rescue.  The things that are showing up are way beyond my skills to fix.  If he ever becomes a full time author, I'm sending him on a computer course.

I've got a little something for you today;

You will more than likely recognise a similar creation from a few weeks ago, which was a card for my Daughter-in-law's birthday, well this is the gift bag I've made to pop her present into.
Rose Garden Papers
Tonic, Tattered Lace, and Signature dies
Lace from Hobby Crafts
Ribbon from my box
Liquid Pearls
DI in Brushed Concord
Heart charm from The Ribbon Girl
Lots of  Glamour Dust in Crystal

Moreen's birthday isn't till next Friday, and as it's a significant one she is having her family and Alistair and I for a little get together.

The last time that happened Moreen's sister-in-law and I thought there was going to be a big announcement about a wedding, we were convinced of this as Moreen and Damian are not the sort of couple who have family parties, but we were wrong, but I swear that Damian did that deliberately just to get us going, as he kept grinning at me all evening. Anyhow it will be lovely to meet up with her family again.

Thank you for all the kind comments on my last card, I really do appreciate your visit.

That's me for now, keep warm and cosy and see you soon,
