Peacock!

Good Morning Friends and Visitors, and Happy New Year to You!

I hope everyone is well and not being affected by all this awful weather, it looks devastating and I can't imagine what it must be like to have your home ruined by flooding.
We here in Inverness seam to have a micro climate all of our own, and by and large we have had not too many bad days, New Year's Day was beautiful, bright and sunny, lovely for a walk.

I've been on holiday since before Christmas and will be going back tomorrow, sad but there you go, but I've had a lovely break and feel rested.  I will now be starting my reduced hours, a whole new phase of life for me, I wonder how it will go!

Thank you all so much for your comments on my last card, I do appreciate them all. I've been trying to keep up with your lovely creations, but appologies if I've missed anyone out.  Not been doing all that much in the way of card making myself, I think I overdosed last year.  It was good to have a wee break from it and getting some knitting done.

I've also been setting up my new laptop, and I am getting used to it, not easy as it's Windows 8 and I can see why people don't like it, it's very strange to use, so different from the old PC which is XP, but I'm just taking my time with it.

I think when I was cleaning up the old PC, I must have deleted something that's made me loose my lovely Blog Heading, haven't a clue what I've done, but it's gone, so that is something else to sort out.

Anyhow, I do have a card to share today and here it is;
The Peacock die is by Tattered Lace
SB Rose Creations
All other dies are Tonic, Decorative Wreath Rings
First Edition Rose Garden Paper
Kanban Rainbow Coloured Card
Centural Pearl card in Ivory
Hobby Craft Lace
Dazzler and gems from my box
Glamour Dust in Crystal

This is the first time I've used Tattered Lace dies and I think they are lovely, I will be having more when the bank balance allows.

Is'nt this a strange one.... I began this post on the new computer and got to the bit where I was adding the photo to the page, it uploaded fine, then It wouldn't transfer to the paded when I clicked to add the photo.  I've had to finish this off on the old computer. any one any idea what I might be missing out on the new computer?  all help gratefully received.

I hope you like my card, wasn't too sure of my colours and felt the peacock didn't stand out all that well.
That's me for today, enjoy whatever your doing

Sorry, no advice computer wise Kate, they can be so troublesome, especially when changing from one to another.

The card is fabulous, love the delicate die cuts and how you coloured the peacock.

Warm hugs
Maarit

Hi Kate, I agree Windows 8 is the pits. With my old OS I could do anything with it but now Windows 8 has made me feel I have lost contact with my computer, I feel like throwing it out the window. Love your card and agree Tattered Lace dies are wonderful to use. Hope work goes Ok.

Kate this may be the reason for loosing your Blog Heading, I found it on another blog "Since Leelou Blogs is no longer offering free blog themes, it is time for a new look. Please bear with us during the changes." might help you discover why it is gone.

Hi Kate,
love your card and the dies used. Yes the Tattered Lace dies are really fab to use. Not got any Tonic yet, but who knows when I go to the NEC in March. lol. Love the rainbow coloured card used on the Peacock. Great designing as usual.
Have you thought of trying to put XP on your new computer, if it will take it. I really feel this is the very best system that windows brought out.
The trouble with windows is they put new programs out and let the customers iron out the faults for them. XP is about the very best they brought out. I am a Mac user and use Vertual Box to run my windows ,so I can use me windows CDs .
Good luck with your problems.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I'm still on XP on my laptop. Its not as swift as it used to be (but neither am I come to think of it) but after hearing the horror stories, I will keep on with it until it gives up the ghost.
Very pretty card. Love the wreath dies and your multi coloured peacock.

The pastel colors are so pretty after all that red and green for the holidays.
Makes one think Spring can't be that far off.......
I don't envy you having to get a new computer, I am going to be facing the same thing soon....Ugh. Hope it all gets sorted for you soon. Good luck Kate on going back to work and hope the shortened hours are better for you.
