Christmas Candles!

Hello Everyone, Hoping today finds you all well, and good wishes and hugs to everyone one who is needing some TLC.

Isn't getting dark early now, mind you it's been pretty dull here today, but the lights are having to go on fairly early and I had to put on some heating, just too chilly in the house, but we are galloping towards mid September so what can you expect.

Thank you for leaving all the lovely comments on yesterday's card and I'm delighted that so many of you commented about the games you played as children, plenty of memories there, and to those of you in Englandshire, peever was the same as hopscotch, I'm pretty sure.

When at work, we have had a great time remembering all they types of sweets that were on the go when we were young, and of course there are quite a range of age groups, but it's fun as everyone gets excited and shouting " do you remember, MB bars, Aztecs, penny whoppers, Spangles" or whatever, and usually, and this is the best bit, someone goes to the wee sweetie shop in the market which sells lots of these old sorts of sweets and brings something back. It's also a great way to get my clients motivated and talking.

Anyway, on to today's card,
Sorry it's not the best focused and the colours don't seem to have come out too well.
Papermania Stamp, from a couple of years ago, one of my favourites
Prismacolour Pencils
Papermania First Noel papers, this is a particularly gorgeous paper pack
Core'dinations Red Card
Crafter's Companion Centura Pearl Card
Creative Expressions Gilding Wax in Autumn Bronze
SB Embossing Folder, sorry don't have the name of it
Die'sire Sentimentals Sentiment
Xcut die
Hobby Craft Copper Lace
The Ribbon Girl Gold Crushed Ribbon
WO Poinsettia
Hobby House Pearls
Glamour Dust, gold  and silver

I felt I wanted the candle image to be the main focus, so resisted putting on too many embellishments.

As the TV has been hijacked by football, I think I'll take myself off upstairs and do a bit of knitting.
have a good evening whatever you're doing and see you soon.
Hugs Kate x

A fab Christmas card Kate. My granddad used to pick me up from school and always had a pack of Iced Gems for me which you can still buy. When I was a bit older I used to love the pink and white iced caramels but you can't get them now :-( xx

Wonderful card Kate. I love the candles at Christmas. Talking of old fashioned sweets, I loved Hal dessert and the pink and white coconut rolls that Birrell sold and do you remember the frying pan lollipops. Now you have set me thinking, I better away and get ready for bed. Hugs Rita xxx

Great card Kate, I love this stamp too. Now my favourite old sweetie is a Fry's 5 Centres Cream bar, like the mint one but each section was a different fruit flavour, does anyone else remember it? I've even joined a FB petition to try to bring it back lol! I was also lamenting the loss of Trio and Montego choccy biscuits the other day!

Hi Kate
Very lovely festive card. Just right with the embellishments.
Loved Spangles, Opal Fruits (they will forever be that to me, not Starburst ) Pacers and Refreshers. My dentist has paid his mortgage off due to my childhood sweet chomping lol !
Best wishes

Love the dribbling wax on your candles Kate. Great card. We have had a horrible day here today, cold and rainy. In fact John has been so cold he lit the woodburner this afternoon. I didn't think it was that cold, so I hope he's not coming down with something. Enjoy your evening. Christine xx

Evening Kate, what a lovely sentiment and fab plaid background, I love a bit of plaid!
I remember spangles but I used to love sherbet lemons, fruit salads and black jacks myself.
We sell them at work so educated the kids last Christmas by filling their stockings with traditional sweeties. Nomn. x
Have a super evening, happy crafting, hugs Erika.

Hi Kate,
great Christmas card. Love the candles.
Now your talking my language sweets. I loved the
mushroom looking sweets with coconut on them, and the sweet shaped like a peanut and it had bits of peanut inside.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Good evening Kate,
Yet another stunning card I love the image and so beautifully coloured.

What about Penny Dainties............I remember going to the pictures with mum & dad, Hazel and I got 2 each. Dad broke them in half (they were big enough to do that) we then had 4 sweets to chomp on and very happy about it. Could you imagine kids now accepting that???
Hugs
