Aran Cushion Cover!

Hello Everyone, hoping today finds you all well.

We have had some awful blustery weather today, with some sunshine in between, wouldn't like to be at sea today.

I would like to offer a warm welcome to my latest follower, Karen, it's lovely to have you visit my blog.  I get really excited when I find someone new because it means that I have a look at what you do and that leads me off into a wonderful journey of more inspiration.

Just a short post today, and instead of a card I'm showing the Aran cushion cover that I was trying to finish for part of my son and daughter-in-laws Christmas.  Well I didn't make it, and in fact when we were with them on Christmas day, I noticed that Moreen had lovely new cushions. That said, the knitting finally got finished and I've kept it, so here it is;
This is the back which is just stocking stitch,
It's a lovely pattern and not at all difficult, but I found it difficult to concentrate, and Alistair would just have to ask if I wanted a cuppa and it would throw me off count.
It is knitted in Sidar Aran and it's a brown fleck shade, doesn't show well here.

I've got yet more socks on the pins and hopefully will finish them soon.  Can't knit for long these days as I have tennis elbow and my arm gets quite painful, Old Age!!
That's all for now, hope to be back soon,
Happy Crafting, whatever it is you do,
Kate x

Stunning Cushion. Just reminded me I have loads of Aran wool in the loft, so maybe seeing your cushion will spur me on Kate. Now you have jogged my memory and I remember when I used to refoot the socks I knitted as Welly Boots were so sore on them. Can you still get the heather mixture 4ply? Have a lovely evening. Hugs Rita xx

Hi Kate, I used to love knitting Aran jumpers. I even knitted my sister a bottle green Aran dress which grew with her. You cushion cover is gorgeous, it s nice to keep something you make.

Those were the days when I sat and knitted Aran jumpers, I loved taking different Aran patterns and making up my own designs, always bought my wool on a cone saved joins. Haven't done any in years.
Your cushion is great.

Hi Kate
I love the cushion,I wish I could knit as well as you, I always start with good intentions but I get so tensed up with it it gets smaller and smaller as I go until I can't get the needles into the stitches and my poor old mum has to rescue me. I have to stick to needles like tent pegs and 3 thick wools knitted together to make a scarf that I can finish in an evening.

Good Morning Kate,
Wow! beautiful cushion I love it.
Brought back so many memories, Hazel and I "were" great knitters............not "Knutters"!!!! We used to buy huge cones of Arran and knit for ever.
Think you should start on the Magnesium tablets to help the pain in your arm.
Have a Great Day

Hi Kate,
your aran cushion is superb. Love the aran pattern.
I used to make aran sweaters for my hubby years ago.
Sadly I too can't knit for long these days. I have got trigger finger, and even have trouble when eating with my utensils.
Now to your tennis elbow I had that years ago, my remedy for this is, you know where your elbow bone at the top has little gap when you feel between the bone put your forefinger there and make round circular movements with your finger in the gap between the bones. When ever your sitting down and think of it. This got rid of mine. Let me know if this works for you. it may take a little while, but it really does work.
Have a wonderful crafty day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
